my mother is now making me write and send emails for her, including but not limited to personalized e-birthday cards from her email account. somehow i would feel better if money were changing hands. but it’s mainly the absolution of guilt. everlasting guilt. the kind only immigrant parents can really impress upon you.

I was talking to a friend last night. Her mother had accidentally deleted an important file on her computer (she’s a teacher,) so my friend, after working late, had to go to Mom’s house and try to retrieve the thing. Such is life with parents.
